PLT 2020 Conference Guest: Lecrae

Surging or insurgent - depending on your point of view - Lecrae is blessed with a visionary verbal arsenal and an abiding faith that’s piloted a unique career trajectory defying the typical hip hop storyline.  ‘The system may not have planned for this,’ wrote Vibe about Lecrae, ‘but it’s definitely coming around.’ “More caught than taught,” is how the artist describes his incredible journey that includes two Grammys, a history-making #1 album with his masterful 2014 offering, Anomaly (topped multiple categories, including the Billboard 200 and is RIAA Gold certified), and a compelling live resume, most recently notching a headlining 2016 ‘Destination’ tour which Lecrae says was about “real unity, not pretend unity.”  He continues to thoughtfully engage the culture, reeling off a NY Times Bestseller (last year’s riveting memoir ‘Unashamed’) and a breakthrough spoken word performance at the BET Hip Hop Awards last fall that had the twittersphere heralding his arrival as truth-telling firebrand.

Such authenticity has been the hallmark of his 7 studio albums and multiple mixtapes, now nearing the 2 million mark in sales, with the acclaimed artist winning a Billboard Music Award, multiple BET, Soul Train, and Dove awards and even an Honorary Doctorate of music to go along with his 2 Grammy wins.

PLT Party 2020 Guest: Chris Tomlin

Chris Tomlin is an American contemporary Christian music artist, worship leader and songwriter. He has sold over 7 million records, is a member of Passion Conferences and is signed to EMI's sixstepsrecords. A few of his most well-known songs include How Great Is Our God, Our God, Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies)and his cover of Good Good Father.

Tomlin has been awarded 23 GMA Dove Awards, a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for his 2012 album And If Our God Is For Us and two RIAA certified platinum albums. Because of his songs' popularity in many contemporary churches, TIME magazine stated he may be the "most often sung artist anywhere".

PLT Party 2020 Guest: Zach Williams

Zach Williams’ powerful and poignant journey spans how a boy with a storybook childhood filled with wonderfully nurturing parents, a strong and supportive grounding in the church, and a warm and loving local community was seduced away by the illusion of rock stardom, and the drug and alcohol excesses that can so often accompany that lifestyle.

These days, the Jonesboro, Arkansas-raised and currently Nashville, Tennessee-based artist is a renewed man. He’s a husband, a father, and has also become one of CCM’s leading artists and songwriters by carving a niche with his singular blend of southern rock, country, and faith-filled songwriting, which quickly awarded him his first GRAMMY Award® with his debut album, 2017’s Chain Breaker. With two additional GRAMMY nods among numerous other accolades, he now returns to share his boldly vulnerable and hope-filled sophomore album, aptly titled Rescue Story.

PLT 2020 Guest: Dr. Jay Strack

Dr. Jay Strack is a dynamic communicator and author. He has authored several highly acclaimed books including: The Three Success Secrets of Shamgar, Leadership Rocks, and Life: How to Get There from Here. Dr. Strack is president and founder of Student Leadership University, the premiere global leadership training for students. For the past 30 years, he has had countless opportunities to speak in high schools, universities, to major corporations and professional sports teams. Having prevailed over drug addiction and an abusive childhood, Dr. Strack believes, "If I can overcome the past and believe in the future, anyone can. Your dreams determine your destiny."

Dr. Strack will be at the PLT Party on Friday, July 31st as well as speak on Saturday, August 1st at the PLT Conference.
